CHOPIN en VACANCES 2024 in the manors and landscapes of Poland under the media patronage of Polskie Radio Chopin, Polskie Radio RDC, Radio Famka and Radio PiK, which will be held in Komierowo.

Pałac Komierowo

Invited to participate in the Chopin en Vacances festival are the most outstanding young pianists from home and abroad in the “Chopin age”-pupils and graduates of the famous Zenon Brzewski Secondary Music School in Warsaw, the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw and other well-known music schools and universities. Over the years, the festival has become an event with an international dimension, as in addition to brilliant young pianists from Poland, it also hosts outstandingly talented foreign pianists, especially from Asian countries – mainly China and Japan. Performances during Chopin en Vacances are not competitive. It is a stress-free rivalry, holiday form of collegial musical encounters in a friendly group of young, outstandingly talented musicians. Artistically, all performances take place under the watchful eye and in close consultation with a group of the most distinguished professors guiding individual young artists.

ARTISTS

Rio Ueyama is 16 years old, born in 2007 in Warsaw, Poland. He started learning piano as a 4-year-old in Marzena Jasińska- Siudzińska’s piano class (Suzuki method). He is currently a student at the Zenon Brzewski Secondary Music School in Warsaw under the direction of Professor Iriny Rumiancewej-Dabrowski.

He is the winner of many international and national piano competitions, including:
• First prize in the International Piano Competition ‘Premio ENRICO GALLETTA 2021′ in Livorno, Italy in 2021
• Third place in the 6th International Chopin Piano Competition in Turzno in 2022
• First place in the National Piano Competition under the auspices of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage in Konin in 2022
• First prize and the prize for the best performance of a contemporary piece in the XI International Piano Competition in Enschede, the Netherlands, in 2022
• First place in the XVI Halina Czerny-Stefańska and Ludwik Stefański Piano Competition in Płock in 2022
• First place (piano duet) in the III International Chamber Music Competition XraCamera 2023 in Cracow in 2023.
He has performed at prestigious venues including the W. Lutosławski Concert Studio of the Polskie Radio (with the Polskie Radio Orchestra under the baton of Michał Klauza, he performed J. Haydn’s Piano Concerto in D Major), the National Philharmonic in Warsaw (as a soloist and chamber musician), as well as the 54th Jan Kiepura Festival in Krynica-Zdrój as a soloist. In 2022, he was invited to the ‘VII Rubinstein Piano Festival in Łódź* and played a recital in the Chamber Hall at the Grand Theater in Łódź, as well as he played Edvard Grieg’s Piano Concerto in A minor, op. 16, with Jerzy Semkow’s Polish Sinfonia luventus Orchestra under the baton of Marek Wroniszewski at the Nowa Miodowa Concert Hall in Warsaw. In 2023, he played a recital as part of the Festival.CHOPIN en VACANCES 2023* at the Bronikowski Manor in Zychlin, and in the fall Rio was invited to the ‘International Piano Festival 2023′ in the Netherlands and performed in two cities, Haaksbergen and Enschede. He has received scholarships from the Center for Artistic Education, the Minister of Culture and National Heritage and the National Fund for Children. He has participated in master classes with Dang Thai Son, Dina Yoffe, Nikolai Demidenko, Dmitri Alexeev and Vitaly Pisarenko, among others.

Anna Urzędowska from Nysa, born in 2006. She began learning piano at the age of 6 at the Witold Lutosławski State Music School of first and second degree in Nysa. As of September 2019, she is a student at the Władysław Żeleński State Secondary Music School in Cracow in the class of dr. Stefan Wojtas. She is the winner of about 50 international and national piano competitions. Among the most important while attending the Nysa State Music School are:
• XIV International Piano Competition.Chopin for the youngest’ in Antonin 2017 (1st place),
• XII Maurycy Moszkowski International Piano Competition in Kielce 2017 (Grand Prix),
• XVII Juliusz Zarębski International Music Competition in Łomianki 2017 (1st place),
• International Piano Competition “Piano Talents for Europe” Slovakia 2018 (Grand Prix),
• VIII International Chopin Competition in Budapest 2018 – 1st place.
Some of the most important achievements while attending the W. Żeleński first and second-degree State Music School include:
• X Chopin Piano Tournament named after Halina and Ludwik Stefański 2020 (first place)
• Virtual International Music Competition – Malaysia 2020 (first place)
• International Competition of Young Pianists “Broumovska klavesa” Czech Republic 2021 (1st place)
• XXV National Piano Tournament named after H. Czerny-Stefańska in Zagan 2022 (Grand Prix)
• II Competition Alternative of Polskie Radio Chopin – 1st place in the Waltz category and 1st place ex aequo in the Etude category 2022
• XVIII Chopin Piano Festival Young Interpretations Konin – Żychlin 2022 (2nd place)
• XVI Halina Czerny-Stefańska and Ludwik Stefański piano competition, Plock 2022 (1st prize and 4 special prizes).
In addition, since 2021, she co-founded a duo with Martyna Walusiak-Cybulska, where they are laureates of 3 national and 2 international piano competitions including: the CEA music competition 2023 – 2nd prize. She has given concerts in Spain, the Czech Republic, Germany and many places in Poland, among others. During the 2022/23 school year, she performed, among others, at the Grand Theater in Łódź, at the Fryderyk Chopin Birthplace, at the Polskie Radio Chopin, and at a concert with the orchestra in Mariánské Lázně. She also participated in the A. Rubinstein Festival. She is a member of the “Pro Musica Bona” foundation and the National Fund for Children. She was awarded a scholarship from the Minister of Culture in 2022 and 2023.
